Nortel in Russia, the Baltic States and the CIS
First present in 1995, Nortel views the Russian Federation as a key strategic market, and recent investments by the Corporation into the country are proof of this. An ongoing talent recruitment programme, launched in late 2003, will see a substantially increased in-country presence, while in February 2004 an office was opened in St Petersburg, followed by a second Moscow office.
Throughout the Russian Federation, Nortel is able to offer a complete end-to-end solutions from in country initial business planning through to design, implementation, engineering, optimisation and support of the networks deployed. Through our partners in Russia and also direct to operators, we are able to leverage our vast portfolio of products and services to provide customers with new business opportunities, efficiency, productivity, and growth.
As well as benefiting from more established Nortel products, our Russian customers are also at the forefront of our new technologies. In addition to enabling Next Generation Networks through our Communication Server (formerly known as Succession) portfolio, Nortel is also implementing wireless networks built around CDMA standards - in fact we are one of only a few vendors to have a credible offering in both the GSM and CDMA marketplace.
