First present in 1995, Nortel views the Russian Federation as a key strategic market, and recent investments by the Corporation into the country are proof of this. An ongoing talent recruitment programme, launched in late 2003, will see a substantially increased in-country presence, while in February 2004 an office was opened in St Petersburg, followed by a second Moscow office.

In addition to enabling Next Generation Networks through our Communication Server (formerly known as Succession) portfolio, Nortel is also implementing wireless networks built around CDMA standards - in fact we are one of only a few vendors to have a credible offering in both the GSM and CDMA marketplace.
