Nortel Networks Netas

Established in 1967, Nortel Networks Netas is a joint venture company between Turkish PTT, now Türk Telekom and Northern Electric Company Limited (Nortel Networks Corporation) of Canada, and aims to supply Turkey with locally manufactured telecommunications equipment.

Focusing its resources on design, production and utilization of latest technology based communications systems and a rich line of products and solutions, Nortel Networks Netas has been deploying networks, communication solutions and modern infrastructures in Türk Telekom, Turkish Armed Forces, service providers and enterprises for many years. The company assists its customers throughout Turkey and other countries in Europe, Middle East, Far East, CIS and Africa to design, operate and market network services supported by continuous on-line technical assistance.

Nortel Networks Netas has played a major role in the modernization of the Turkish civil and military telecommunications infrastructure by supplying approximately 12.5 million lines of switching equipment, transmission and data systems for Turk Telekom, designing and manufacturing military systems such as IFF, TASMUS and ruggedized switching. In the private communications market, Nortel Networks Netas has the largest share with 1.5 million PBX lines in more than 50,000 enterprise customers in various sectors as well as 70% of the IP based equipment installed in the ISPs. More than one million lines of Nortel Networks Netas equipment has been supplied to international customers.
