Net2000 Signs US$165 Million Deal With Nortel Networks for Packet Telephony Solution

BOSTON - Net2000 [NASDAQ: NTKK], an integrated communications provider, has selected Nortel Networks* [NYSE/TSE: NT] to provide network equipment and professional services for expansion of its network in the United States under a three-year agreement estimated to be worth US$165 million.

Nortel Networks will provide Net2000 with a complete packet telephony solution including Nortel Networks Passport* multiservice switches and gateways, Nortel Networks Succession* communications servers, Nortel Networks OPTera* Metro optical solutions, and professional services.

Net2000 plans to use the expanded network to offer integrated voice, video and data services to an increasing number of medium-to-large enterprise customers.
